Paris is simply romantic. Every street corner has its own appeal, each bench seat for a few sleepy eyes – and in every restaurant, cafe and hotel intends to squeeze as much money as possible from gullible lover.

So … Here are the top 10 tips for a romantic weekend in Paris, sans le are tourist traps.

1. A nice place to start any visit to Paris, the Rodin Museum, perhaps the most beautiful garden in the city. The hotel is situated in the Rue de Varenne, and entry is £ 4 and the Museum opens at9.30.

9. A hotel room with rooftop terrace offers the ultimate boho chic. The Hotel de l'Abbaye offers exquisite split-level suites at £ 280 per night, while the Hotel Duc de Saint-Simon offersstylish double rooms with private terrace for sunny breakfast at £ 150 per night.

10. Finally, do not try and fit too much – you're there to see each other in the first place after all! Do not forget to buy some French designer lingerie, if you're here!
